Considered one of the great Mayan enclaves, the Honduran site tells the story of its dynasties in impressive stelae and more than 2,500 hieroglyphs. Copán was the capital of an important Mayan kingdom between the 5th century and the 9th century.
Copán Ruinas is located in western Honduras, in the Department of Copán, just 14 kilometers from the El Florido border with Guatemala. For many years, Copán Ruinas has been famous for its magnificent Mayan ruins, declared by UNESCO Archaeological Heritage of Humanity in 1980. Today, Copán Ruinas is considered the Paris of the Mayan world in Central America.

On top of literally planning everything out for us, (Plane tickets, meals, accommodation), Which I can't imagine having to do myself again, the biggest highlight with Catracho Tours HN was the people. I'm selective with the people I travel with. Going on this tour was my boyfriend's idea for our anniversary. He heard about Catracho Tours HN from his friend who went on a trip with his Fiance. While we're the couple that likes to pan things and travel ourselves, he thought it would be nice to have someone do that for us. And let me tell you this was our first, and will probably be the only way I want to travel from now on. On top of the time we saved on research, planning, and booking places, we made friends. AMAZING FRIENDS and great service! _Jorge___(staff's name) was our guide, he stayed with us the two weeks we were traveling along with 5 other people. One family, and another couple. We bonded through the experience and I'm still in touch with the travelers till this day! What made it so special with Catracho tours HN was especially when it came to eating, I'm vegan. My boyfriend missed putting that in our reservation when he was booking the trip. We told them when we landed in Honduras. I couldn't eat some of the pre-planned meals. But how they treated this situation was what made me feel so appreciated and listened to. Jorge would go out of his way to make sure I got the food that I can eat at all the places we met.I didn't have to worry about not having a meal at all. If some places in the itinerary only had carbs and vegetables, he would make sure I get my protein's elsewhere. You'd be surprised with how good the vegan foods are in Honduras! Thank you so much Jorge!
Catarchos Tours HN was very helpful and professional when planning my trip. I highly recommend them. They don't treat you like another client but a close friend. I enjoyed myself and their service. I can't wait to work with them again in the near future.
My experience with catrachos tours HN was stupendous. Every adventure was beyond expectation. My experience with visiting Honduras was great. At first I didn’t know what to expect but Catrachos Tours HN staff made sure I was safe, protected and accommodated. One of my highlights with traveling with Catrachos Tours HN was meeting the indigenous Garífuna people of Honduras in Cayos Cochinos. The cultural preservation that they have managed to preserve is impeccable. The food, dance, attire, language was so beautiful. I loved drinking “gifity” and learned a new word “semeti” which means delicious in Garífuna. I would definitely recommend Catrachos Tours HN as a tour company because they offer more than an adventure, they offer a journey. Until next time again next year but this time with my entire family.
My experience in Honduras with Catrachos Tour HN was fantastic. We spent the day on Cayo Grande of Cayos Cochinos and Chachuate Island. We stopped on a deserted key for a photo op, which no other company offered that day. The guide’s presentation was rich in culture and history. During the excursion we explored, swam, snorkelled, and relaxed on the beach. My reason for visiting Honduras was to learn more about the Garífuna community and experience the culture first hand. Catrachos Tour HN made that happen! As a Spanish Teacher, it is important that I teach my students about how other cultures influence Spanish, and after having visited Honduras and beautiful Chachauate, I am better able to do this! The tour guide even took the time to find and introduce me personally to the Chief of that Garífuna community. That was the highlight of my trip! As we ended the tour, Catrachos Tour HN staff took the time to tell us what else to do in the city of La Ceiba. I look forward to visiting again, and without a doubt, will use Catracho Tours HN.
I enjoyed the day-trip with my wife in Cayos Cochinos (Cayo Grande) and in Chachahuate with Catrachos Tour HN. I really loved the hike to the lighthouse overlooking the area including the mainland. The guides were patient and helpful throughout the whole trip. We enjoyed an swim and snorkelling and a visit to a Garifuna community who served us a delicious seafood lunch, all planned by the guides.
