Miami located in Tela, Honduras

About Miami

The Garifuna community of Miami is located on the shore of the Laguna Los Micos in Tela, it is a protected area and part of the Jeannette Kawas National Park (Punta Sal).

The natural beauty of this Garifuna community on the shores of the Caribbean coast is worth admiring, not only because it maintains its ancestral traditions, but also because of the conservation of this area.

In Miami live less than 50 families in the typical red mangrove houses with coconut palm roofs.

In this place you can enjoy delicious fried fish with “rice and beans”, seafood and conch soup, coconut water, the traditional machuca and its delicious coconut breads.

Spending an afternoon here is like being in paradise!
