Utila located in Bay Islands, Honduras

About Utila

Utila is one of the three main islands that make up the insular department of Islas de la Bahía of the Republic of Honduras, it is the smallest island and the closest to the mainland. The island is imbued with an atmosphere of piracy stories alongside the natural charms and daily life of the islanders.

The United Nations (UN) declared the island of Utila as the best place in the world to dive.

Utila is the most traditional and conservative of the islands of the archipelago, despite the changes it has undergone over the decades since its transfer from the British to the government of Honduras in the 19th century, from being a closed community dedicated to the fishing to be one of the most cosmopolitan places in Honduras and develop as one of the best tourist destinations in the Caribbean and be an example of this for the rest of the region.

The second largest reef in the world is located in Utila
